Cookies

What VectoraPoint stores in your browser, and why.

Summary

We use a small set of necessary and preference technologies, plus optional first-party visit measurement when you Accept. We do not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Cookies we set

NameTypePurposeDuration
vp_session Necessary Keeps you signed in after log in (HttpOnly). Up to 7 days

Browser storage

KeyTypePurpose
vp-theme Preference Remembers light or dark theme.
vp-consent Preference Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we do not ask again.

Visit stats

When you choose Accept, this site sends a first-party beacon to /api/collect with the page path, external referrer host, and optional UTM tags. No analytics cookie or visitor id is stored in your browser. On the server we store those fields, coarse device/browser/OS class, your IP address, full User-Agent, a guest/logged-in flag, your account email when you are logged in, and a daily rotating visitor hash derived from IP and User-Agent. Stats are retained for 90 days and are available only to administrators. Choosing Essential only disables this beacon.

Your choices

  • Accept — preferences, (when logged in) the session cookie, and first-party pageview stats (including IP, User-Agent, and account id when logged in).
  • Essential only — we still need the session cookie to keep a login working; theme and consent preference may still be stored locally so the banner can stay dismissed; no analytics beacon is sent.
  • Clear site data in your browser to remove storage and end the session.

Audits of other websites

When you run an audit, VectoraPoint may report cookies set by that third-party domain. Those findings are about the audited site, not cookies we set on VectoraPoint.
